We are beyond excited to announce our first annual Icelandic Adventure.

Detailed Itinerary (subject to change)

This will be a glacier filled trip to remember. The sooner you reply and make a deposit the better the chances are.


Dates: July 4-11

Day 1:

Reykjavik On arrival at Keflavik International airport in Iceland.

After settling in your room a short walk to restaurant Skólabrú for our welcome Dinner. Fosshotel Lind, centrally located in Reykjavík, is near Laugavegur, the city’s main shopping area. Numerous restaurants, cafés, shops, museums and art galleries can be found just around the corner as well as one of Reykjavík’s largest city park.

Day 2: Reykjavík – Landmannalaugar
This morning we’ll set out to explore some of Iceland ́s wonders on the Golden Circle. After exploring the old parliamentary grounds, we continue to the geothermal area of Geysir with its hot springs and the reliable Strokkur geyser. Next, the magnificent Gullfoss, the queen of Iceland’s waterfalls. One of the most spectacular waterfalls of Iceland situated on the white colored Hvitá River. The day ends with a drive to the highland oasis Landmannalaugar where you will spend the night at the mountain hut. While our guide prepares our dinner, we have the possibility to take a nice hot bath in the warm river. Days 3: Landmannalaugar – Álftavatn (Swan Lake)
Today, we’re hiking the 500 year-old Laugahraun lava flow. Climbing past sulphur vents, we top a succession of rolling hills before descending into the hot springs of Stórihver. Descending into the gorges of Jökultungur, we come across steaming hot springs and mud pools. The route crosses old snow patches and climbs ridges where we have views across dark volcanic plains towards lake Álftavatn and glaciers. Crossing the southern edge of the Torfajökull Massif, we descend towards the black sands and palagonite ridges around Lake Álftavatn (Swan Lake). Arriving at the lake, we check in at the mountain hut. Distance: 24 km (15 mi) Walking time: 7-8 hrs. Ascent/Descent 470 m/490 m Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner* Accommodation: Álftavatn Hut Room Type: Shared sleeping bag accommodation, Mountain Hut – Sleeping bag required.
Days 4: Álftavatn – Thorsmörk
Today there are several rivers to cross, as we head towards Mýrdalsjokull Icecap. We descend to the green oasis of Hvanngil. Crossing more rivers and to the surreal 5 kilometer-wide, black sand plain of Mælifellssandur, beneath the peak of Stórasúla. Heading towards Hattfell, an ancient volcano, we reach the Emstrur region. We trek through the magnificent Markarfljót Canyon. For the first time on our trek, we enter a green and well-vegetated valley. Finally we reach the thick birch forest, where even the lava ridges are covered with scrubby trees. The valley is guarded on all sides by tremendous, fast-flowing rivers and steep glacier clad mountains. We overnight at one of the Þórsmörk’s huts. Distance: 34 km Walking time: 10 – 11 hrs. Day 5: Básar -Fimmvörðuháls – Skógar
We leave the magic landscapes of Goðalönd – and start climbing up the hills to the pass of Fimmvörðuháls, walking along the Kattarhryggir ridges up to Morinsheiði heath. At the end of the Morinsheiði plateu we enjoy the view of the lava stream that flowed down from the Fimmvörðuháls volcano in spring of 2010. Then, to the two craters Magni and Móði that erupted prior to the main Eyjafjallajökull crater. We cross the brand-new lava at the foot of the magnificent red craters. After crossing safely, we get a view to the lava and craters. From there, the path takes us over a desolate heath. We come to the Skógaá River exploring its many hidden gorges, and waterfalls all the way to the famous Skógafoss waterfall. Arriving at Skógar we settle in our cozy hotel Skógar where you will relax in the hot tub. Distance: 25 km (15 m), Walking time: 8 – 10 hrs., Ascent/Descent 900 m/1000 m Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner Accommodation: Hotel Skógar
Day 6: South Coast
Today we will get a vehicle to explore the picturesque South Coast. We head east with stop in the little village of Vík. Further east we arrive at Skaftafell National Park where we will put on crampons and go on a glacier hike on one of the glacier tongues of glacier Vatnajökull, the biggest in Europe. We continue further East to the famous Glacier Lagoon with the floating icebergs and walk down to the Diamond beach. Dinner and accommodation in Skaftafell.

Day 7: Return to Reykjavik

Before returning to the capital we will hike along the magnificiand canyon Fjaðrárgljúfur. Then we will stop in some well chosen spots like the Black beach of Reynisfjara, the much photographed DC10 plane wreck and Seljalandsfoss waterfall. We arrive in Reykjavík in the afternoon where you will have a little time to relax before walking to Restaurant Reykjaveik for your seafood buffet farewell dinner. Meals: Breakafst, lunch and dinner.

Day 8: Transfer to airport
Pick up at your hotel for a private transport to Keflavik internationl airport. Meals: Breakfast
